Nazem Kadri Has Signed a Deal [UPDATED]

It’s official! Fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs can stop holding their breath the moment they have been waiting for has finally arrived. Toronto General Manager Dave Nonis just announced that the Leafs have indeed signed Nazem Kadri to a two-year deal. The amount he signed for has not been released yet but if I was to venture a guess I would set the number at about 6 million.

Leafs Media Day is set for tomorrow from 10am until 2 pm so we will definitely find out everything we wanted to know then. Until then I will just share my thoughts on the situation: I think this was a great move by the Leafs. By holding out until now they avoid paying him more than he’s worth (1 good year doesn’t make you Sidney Crosby). Actually signing him was a great move as well. He is clearly a talented player who is young enough that he has room to develop into an even better one.

What do you think of the Kadri signing? Tell us in the comment box below, on facebook, or on twitter!

UPDATE: According to NHL.com The two year deal is for $5.8 million.

Your first opportunity to see Kadri return to Toronto will be October 5th against the Senators. Maple Leafs tickets are available currently for as low as $169.
