The season is quickly approaching which means the return of the much beloved injury updates (please hold your applause). We are starting with some news on the Edmonton Oilers, in particular Mr. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. According to Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal, RNH is feeling good following his shoulder surgery on April 23rd. RNH speculates that he will be ready to skate without contact when training camp begins. As for whether he will be ready to play in the season opener it remains to be seen.
Another player who had surgery this off-season is Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers. According to Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer the Flyers’ captain was injured when his golf club hit the grass instead of the ball and shattered. Claude expects to be ready by the beginning of the season but not in time to participate in the beginning of training camp.
