Acadie-Bathurst Titan forward Jordan Boyes passed away on Monday after collapsing on the ice. The medical staff rushed to him and attempted to revive the 16 year old multiple times. He was later pronounced dead at the New Brunswick Hospital.
Monday was the first day of training camp for the Titans, and Boyes first camp at the Junior level. He had gone through medical evaluation before camp, and there were no signs that he may be in any kind bad condition that would keep him off of the ice. Boyes suffered from some discomfort while skating before he collapsed and fell to the ice.
Jordan Boyes was drafted in the fourth round of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft by the Titans. The Titans and his family are both awaiting results from the autopsy that may help figure out the cause of death.
