Rob Blake Announced As Kings Assistant GM, Ron Hextall Named Assistant GM in Philadelphia

Rob Blake as left his job working with the Department of Player Safety to go back to the Los Angeles Kings. Blake was announced Thursday as the Kings new assistant GM. Ron Hextall left the Kings for the assistant GM job for the Philadelphia Flyers. So Hextall returns to the Flyers, and the Kings replace him with Rob Blake.

Rob Blake played in Los Angeles for 14 years. He won the Norris trophy in 1998 for the league’s best defenseman, was selected to six All-Star games, and won a Stanley Cup in Colorado in 2001.

Ron Hextall spent 11 seasons in a Flyers uniform during his playing days. Hextall holds Flyers records for games by a goaltender (489), career wins (240), and career playoff wins (45).
