There is some big news coming out of the NHL today that the Boston Bruins and the Dallas Stars have made a 7-player trade. The Bruins acquired Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, Reilly Smith, and Joe Morrow (who they recently acquired from Pittsburgh), while giving Dallas Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverly, and Ryan Button. This can be good for both teams.
The Dallas Stars made it clear that this next season is going to be a whole new them. Their new logo was the start of the new team, and now, adding stars like Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverly, they can be an offensive team that we haven’t seen in a while. After they traded away captain Brenden Morrow to the stacked Penguins, they have been lacking the strength up front. I mean come on, Loui Eriksson can’t do it himself!
The Bruins seem like a good fit for a player like Eriksson. I feel that he will fit in well with the team, both physical and skilled. He should be a great player to add speed to the team. I think that Eriksson is a great fit for replacing Seguin. This team made out on the deal, not only because they got one more player, but because of the skill level of the players. These four players are a perfect fit for the Bruins. I’m not saying Seguin and Peverly weren’t, but this trade is almost a perfect one.
I feel that Dallas is going to be a more advanced team next year. Adding the skill of Seguin will boost them, and I think they are looking to make a playoff spot next year. Expect to see some great things out of this team. I thought this before they made this trade, but now, there is no doubt.
