The Stanley Cup Finals have been great this far. It might be one of the best I’ve watched. I’m a fan of the overtime games, especially if it takes a couple. That’s where you find out the teams weaknesses. Aside from the three overtime-deciding games out of five total, it’s been nothing but a great series. But can the Chicago Blackhawks dominate game 6 like they did in game 5 and win the Cup in Boston?
With the elimination looming over the heads of the Bruins, I expect nothing less than a severely physical game. I think big players for them are, obviously, Zdeno Chara and Tuukka Rask. But don’t be fooled by only them, because I could say the same for every forward out there. David Krejci is due for another great game, as well as Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand. They are going to have to win in order to stay alive and please the home crowd. This is going to be a close one, especially if Tuukka plays as good as everyone knows he can.
The Blackhawks know this is their moment. The Bruins are going to be playing with a lot of anger and emotion, so they want to be ready to counter anything they face. I think the best thing the Hawks can do to win this game is to rely a little less on stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. If they keep trying to get them the puck, it could end up like the Boychuk hit on Toews in game 5, which benched him for the whole third period. It’s too much of a risk just for the chance to win. I think their best move is to let the defense get a lot of chances from the blue line and maybe give Marian Hossa and Stu Bickell more opportunities.
What do you think? Who will win this game 6? Can the Blackhawks end the playoffs in Boston and take the Cup, or does Boston devour the Hawks and take it to Chicago for a best of one series? I would really like to hear some feedback. Personally, I think the Bruins are going to win this one in overtime. I say this because I know it will be a close game, given the information from the other games of the series.
