Game three of the Stanley Cup Finals kicked off Monday night and the Boston Bruins skated to their second win in a row to take the 2-1 lead on the Blackhawks.

So if Boston wins the Stanley Cup, which player should receive the Conn Smythe? To me, two players come to mind for the Bruins.

David Krejci has been one Boston’s best forwards all throughout the playoffs. Krejci has 9 goals and 14 assists for 23 points in 19 playoff games with a +15 rating. Krejci leads the league in points, and has even stepped into the penalty kill. Krejci had the game winner in game 4 of the first round in Toronto, and the game winner in game one of the Conference Finals in Pittsburgh.

Tuukka Rask has been a dominant force in the Boston net. He held Pittsburgh to two goals in a four game sweep of the Cup favorite Penguins. Rask has once again shut down an offensively talented team in Chicago, allowing only 5 goals in 3 games including a shut out in game three. Rask didn’t look great in game one, but Boston’s defense didn’t give him much help. Rask has a save percentage of .946% and a goals against average of 1.64.

So if the Bruins are able to beat the Blackhawks and win their second cup in three seasons who will win the Conn Smythe? Who deserves it more, David Krejci or Tuukka Rask? Both of these guys have played very well thus far, but I think Rask deserves the award, he’s held Boston in games throughout the entire playoffs.
