Quick Hits: Duncan Keith’s Slash, Mark Streit UFA, Dallas Stars New Look

A couple of bits of news coming out of  the NHL today first Duncan Keith‘s slash on Jeff Carter from last night’s game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings is currently under review by the Board of Player Safety but there is still no word on whether Keith will get a hearing. Keith is a vital part of the Blackhawks defense and if he is suspended for even one game it could be detrimental to the Blackhawks in this series. For more on this check  out this article from ESPN.

Mark Streit has turned down the New York Islanders offer to renew his contract with the team. This means Streit will become an unrestricted free agent come July 5. This exciting news for other teams who are looking to rebuild as Streit is a talented player and would be a great addition to a team. For more on this check out this article from TSN.

Following behind the Carolina Hurricanes the Dallas Stars revealed their new look jerseys last night. Personally I liked the old ones better but to each his own. For more on the new jerseys check out the Stars website.
