Injury Update: Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Todd Bertuzzi, Cory Schneider, and Jason Pominville

There were a few absences at Toronto Maple Leafs practice this morning. Mike Kostka will be out indefinitely with a broken finger. Cody Franson has a bruised foot, no word as to whether he will be playing Saturday’s game against the Boston Bruins. Phil Kessel was out for a maintenance day.

James Neal and Jussi Jokinen both left the Pittsburgh Penguins game last night against the New York Islanders with undisclosed injuries. Jokinen has declared himself ready to play on Friday but ESPN reported that Neal was not at practice today. Neal just returned from a concussion, no details have been released on his injury but it is thought to be lower-body, Neal is considered day-to-day. In other Penguins news Sidney Crosby skated with his regular linemates in practice today but still has not been cleared to play.

There was some good news for the Detroit Red Wings today regarding Todd Bertuzzi. It has been confirmed that he will be playing in tonight’s game against the Ananheim Ducks.

According to Mark Spector Cory Schneider did not participate in Vancouver Canucks practice today.

Jason Pominville was not at Minnesota Wild practice today and will not be participating in Friday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
