Injury Update: Briere, Grossmann, Emelin, Bourque, Neal, and Halak

There is good news and bad news for the Philadelphia Flyers today. The good news is that Sam Carchidi reported that Danny Briere has said his headaches have been reduced and the best-case scenario has him returning to the line up this weekend. The bad news is that Carchidi also reported that Nicklas Grossmann has a concussion as well. Grossmann was listed as day-to-day until this information came to light.

There is also a good news bad news situation going on for the Montreal Canadiens as well. The bad news is that Alex Emelin will be out with torn knee ligaments for the rest of the season according to Pat Hickey. The good news is that according to Dave Stubbs Rene Bourque is set to return tomorrow night.

There was just bad news today for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Bob Pompeani reported today that James Neal has a concussion according to coach Dan Bylsma. The St. Louis Blues also got bad news today from Dave Rosen about goalie Jaroslav Halak:

This news isn’t really that bad for the Blues though considering their back-up Brian Elliott was named one of the three stars of the week.
