Injury Update: Sidney Crosby, Zac Rinaldo, and Chris Pronger

According to NHL.com Sidney Crosby visited his Pittsburgh Penguins teammates yesterday before practice. He did not speak with the media but did meet with Jarome Iginla and coach Dan Bylsma. Crosby underwent emergency surgery on Saturday for his broken jaw, it was also reported that he had another dental procedure on Wednesday and will face more dental work later on. Despite rumors that say otherwise the Penguins maintain that Crosby does NOT have a concussion but they will continue to monitor him for syptoms.

Yesterday it was announced that Zac Rinaldo of the Philadelphia Flyers will be out indefinitely with a high ankle sprain. He was injured in Wednesday night’s game against the Montreal Canadiens.

An interesting addition to the Flyers road trip to Toronto was Chris Pronger. Pronger has been sidelined with a concussion since last season but maintains he is going to come back and not retire. Mark Masters talked to Pronger about his health:

Pronger will not likely make it back into the lineup this season and I have a hard time believing he will make it back in at all but, he does seem to believe he will make a comeback. If thinking he coming back makes him feel better all the power to him and you never know what effect the power of positive thinking will have. Crazier things have happened.
