Robyn Regehr Traded to Los Angeles Kings

After all the speculation the Buffalo Sabres have trade Robyn Regehr to the Los Angeles Kings for a pair of second round draft picks. So far this season Regehr has 2 assists and 21 penalty minutes in 29 games. He will be an unrestricted free agent after this season and he waived his no movement clause to go to LA.

Regehr has been in the NHL for 13 seasons which were split between the Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres, accumulating 30 goals, 140 assists and 879 penalty minutes in his 932 games.

The Sabres seem to be trying for a rebuild. They sent Jordan Leopold to the St. Louis Blues for draft picks and there have been many rumors surrounding other players on the Sabres, including Drew Stafford and Jason Pominville. I have a feeling the Sabres aren’t done yet. Pominville has been asked to provide a no-trade list tonight or tomorrow morning. The Kings were also said to be looking at Stafford but maybe this deal evolved from that or maybe there is a second deal in the works between the Sabres and Kings.

This move seems to mean the Kings are looking to make a playoff push and take a run at 2 Stanley Cup wins in a row.
