Jarome Iginla has submitted a list of 4 teams to the Calgary Flames, according to Joe Yerdon of Pro Hockey Talk. On the list are the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Los Angeles Kings, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Accoring to Sportsnet’s Mark Spector, Flames GM Jay Feaster sent an email to all teams saying that Anton Babchuk and Cory Sarich are available although both have a no-trade clause.
Stephen Whyno of the Washington Times reported that Mike Ribeiro would like to re-sign with the Washington Capitals for what he thinks is a long-term deal:
“Five years for me is long term,” he said. “Two, three years I don’t think it’s long term. It’s short-term. Two, three is short term. Four, five, six [is] long-term. Then 10 years like Ovi, that’s a marriage thing.”
The Tampa Tribune’s Erik Erlendsson doesn’t believe that the Tampa Bay Lightning will make a lot of moves at the deadline. Nate Thompson got a lot of interest but most likely will not be moved. He doesn’t see Martin St. Louis getting traded. Sami Salo and Eric Brewer have modified no trade/movement clauses. Marc-Andre Bergeron might get some interest though as a depth defenseman.
