NHL Players Playing In The AHL During The Lockout

As it did in the 2004-05 season, the American Hockey League is set to benefit from the NHL lockout. There are a number of players on each NHL team that will be playing with their AHL affiliate until a new CBA is agreed upon. To get you ready for the start of the AHL season here is a list of all players who were expected to at least challenge for an NHL roster spot this year that will be playing in the AHL during the lockout.

Based on the NHL stars on some of these teams the early favorites to win the Calder Cup include the Oklahoma City Barons (Edmonton Oilers), Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres), Charlotte Checkers (Carolina Hurricanes), Rockford Icehogs (Chicago Blackhawks) and Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs).
