Daily Poll: Is Detroit Still Hockey Town?

I have asked readers to come up with today’s daily poll and I have found a winner. This subject is very touchy and I am a bit worried that I even am doing a poll about questioning is Detroit is still Hockey Town.

This summer has been very tough for Detroit Red Wings fans, they lost their great captain in Nick Lidstrom and also could not land prized free agents Ryan Suter and Zack Parise, who both signed with the Minnesota Wild.

I remember when I was a young kid watching hockey, when the Buffalo Sabres would play the Red Wings, I thought it was a for sure loss. I remember all the greats in Detroit of my time and remember when Dominik Hasek was traded their as well. I always wanted a Steve Yzerman, Nick Lidstrom,  Sergei Fedorov (by the way who said Russians cant play defense.?) and even a Larry Murphy who only played 5 seasons with the Detroit, on my team.

Ohh and lets not forget, they have 11 Stanley Cups witch is the most for any franchise in the United States.

There is a blogger who covers the Red Wings that I love to follow and get his insight about the Wings, George Malik.  He has made me a fan of the team and because of him, I follow the Wings more then ever.

Anyways, when I asked fans about what poll I should do, well, a lot of responses where along the lines of  ‘who will the wings sign,’ ‘Are they looking to make a trade,? and yes of course the headline of blog, ‘are they still Hockey Town.?’

My first thought “wow, I have alot of Wings fans following me.” But, then i realized Detroit fans haven’t been in this situation in a very long time. I mean no Nick Lidstrom on a powerplay is like having no blades on ice skates. Seriously, who will pass the puck up to Pavel Datsyuk? Who will make playing defense in the NHL look so easy in Detroit. I can’t think of anyway to compare what the fans of Detroit are going through. But they are still HOCKEY TOWN.

Below is a poll, I would love to see your comments, so please take the time to give me your thoughts and please vote. I really want to know the thoughts off all hockey fans on this subject. Also dont forget to follow me on Twitter @NHLGossip
