-Phoenix Coyotes‘ forward Brett MacLean suffered a cardiac emergency in Owen Sound, Ontario on Monday. He was on the ice at the time of the event, he was then administered CPR and taken to a hospital. He has since been transferred to a hospital in London, Ontario and has been admitted to Cardiac ICU.
-While no decision has come from Ryan Suter or Zach Parise, there is news concerning one of them. Reportedly the Detroit Red Wings have offered Suter a 13-year contract worth $90-million.
-The Dallas Stars made the biggest headlines yesterday, inking veteran winger and future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr to a one-year, $4.55-million deal. Jagr returned to the NHL last year after a three year absence and had 54 points in 73 games.
-Erik Johnson extended his stay in Colorado, as the RFA inked a four-year contract with the Avalanche yesterday. The deal will pay the former first-overall pick $15-million.
-After a career playoffs, Bryce Salvador will return to the New Jersey Devils. Salvador agreed to a three-year, $9.5-million contract. Salvador scored 14 points in 24 playoff games for New Jersey, more than he’s put up in nine of his 11 regular seasons.
-Taylor Pyatt is the newest member of the New York Rangers, agreeing to a two-year contract. The 30-year old winger will make $3.1-million over that two years ($1.55 per).
-Danny Syvret is a Philadelphia Flyer again. The defenceman signed a two-year, $1.175-million contract yesterday to return to the team for his third go-around.
