NHL Rumor Wire – June 1st, 2011

Dallas Morning News:  Mike Heika Reports, Dallas Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk said he has interviewed three possible candidates for the Stars open head coach job and plans to interview at least one more.   While Texas Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan and former Stars coach Ken Hitchcock are no surprises, Nieuwendyk said he also has talked to Nashville assistant coach Peter Horachek.

Dallas Morning News:  Mike Heika Reports, Dallas Stars interim president Tony Tavares confirmed this morning that discussions in the sale of the team are moving forward in a positive direction and that the team could have definitive news by the end of the week.

The Detroit News:  Ted Kulfan reports, The Detroit Red Wings‘ wish might finally come true.
With the Atlanta Thrashers officially moving to Winnipeg — the news conference will be in Winnipeg at noon Eastern on Tuesday — speculation of realignment will begin and the Red Wings figure to be in the middle of the discussions, with their hope of moving to the Eastern Conference.

sportbox.ru: Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov denies reports that he is in talks with St. Petersburg SKA of the KHL. According to Bryzgalov, reports of him  going to the KHL, which appeared in the media, are nothing more than rumors.
