NHL Rumor Wire – May 31st, 2011

Detroit Free Press: George Sipple reports, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson wants to re-sign with Red Wings.  Ericsson made it clear he wasn’t all that excited about testing the waters as an unrestricted free agent.

Sporting News: Craig Custance reports, If the Philadelphia  Flyers truly want to add a top goalie, money will have to be cut from the current roster. There is a simple but not easy solution, trade Jeff Carter.

St. Petersburg Times: Damian Cristodero reports, Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman saying he is open to bringing back goalies Dwayne Roloson and Mike Smith, and center Steven Stamkos, a potential restricted free agent, saying he sees no reason a deal will not be done.
