FanSided NHL Recap October 18

facebooktwitterreddit

Missed this last week and I’m not going to bore you with any excuses. so I’ll just get right into it. You know the drill as every Monday I post the top stories from our FanSided NHL staff of writers.  Without further delay, let’s get started.

The Buffalo Sabres are off to a slow start and it’s troubling for some.  Sabre Noise isn’t ready to push the panic button just yet.

My writing partner Dave Lasseter over at the Rat Trick was pleased that the Florida Panthers were able to salvage their western Canadian road trip by beating Calgary.

Speaking of slow starts, the Pittsburgh Penguins are having difficulty so far, even with a new building to be excited about.  A Winning Habit credits a number of things for the Habs victory over the Pens.

Despite James Wisniewski’s rude gesture, the New York Islanders manage to steal a victory over the New York Rangers.  Eye On Isles will take it no matter how they get it.

Nothing like having two views on one situation.  Blue Line Station reviews the same game that Eye On Isles did.

The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Colorado Avalanche last week by what Broad Street Buzz calls a “lucky” goal.

The Pittsburgh Penguins finally wins one at home in their new arena.  Pens Labyrinth says it’s about time.

I would bet that most people didn’t think the Toronto Maple Leafs would be undefeated at the start of the season.  Editor In Leaf wants someone to wake him up as he didn’t think it could happen either.

Want to learn more about Alex the Great?  The Ovechkin Project will certainly help you.  Capitals Outsider let’s you in on the book review.

The Anahiem Ducks are another team that’s off to a poor start.  Ducks Daily Blog asks, “Are We Really This Bad”?

Nashville comes from behind to beat the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.  Or as Blackhawk Up called it, The Evil Troll Steals one.

Lots of curious things going on with some NHL players both on and off the ice.  Blackout Dallas covers three items of interest.

The Edmonton Oilers dropped one to the Minnesota Wild with one of the reasons according to Oil On Whyte being the power play.

Rink Royalty called the season opening video for the Los Angeles Kings cheesy.  He did!  Read about it.

Wade Belak has been known to be not only one of the best fighters in the league, but also one of the best teammates in the league too.  Read Predlines to learn something else about Belak that  I would bet you didn’t know.

That wraps it up for this week.  Thanks for coming by.

We’re going to be making some changes as we move along into the season here at Too Many Men On The Site, on addition that you’ve already seen today is the Monday post by Amanda DiPaolo called Wild Wild West.  Amanda covers the Nashville Predators at Predlines and will be bringing news and notes on the Western Conference.

Stay tuned for more changes for the better here at Too Many Men On The Site.

In addition, all of our NHL teams on the FanSided network will be working on adding more staff to their sites.  Giving you more opinions, more news and more of what fans want.  Hockey!
