facebooktwitterreddit

No longer having to ask is is October yet, we are on the eve so to speak of the start of the NHL regular season for 2010-2011.  At long last the summer is over and the real chase for Lord Stanley’s cup begins Thursday.

We hope that you’ll continue to come to this site daily and get the flavor of our writers as we all give our varied viewpoints on the happenings of the NHL.  When we first started this site in June it was obviously at the tail end of the season and even though there weren’t too many news items this summer, we continued to march on and be noticed by you our readers.

I know that I speak for all the Fansided NHL writers when I say this,  we all are looking forward to the start of the season, and can’t wait for things to unfold.

That said, this weekly feature will contain our best or most popular articles from the past week.  That could be a tall task since we are heading into the season with each team represented, but that just means that all of us will be primed to bring you our best efforts.

To start this weeks segment off, here is an article from John Panarese from Eye On Isles.  John is an extremely unique hockey fan in that he’s been blind since birth.  Had I not told you that I’d bet you wouldn’t know it.  This article received a lot of attention last week, as it should.

Sabre Noise has a say on which teams he doesn’t want to see win the Stanley Cup.  A very interesting list.  Especially the last one.

Blue Line Station talks about “The Whale” making a comeback in Connecticut.  Mike Hirsch seems to be pretty excited about the logo as well as the team making a comeback.

After a brief hiatus SenShot is back and back in full form.  Catch all the latest Senators news right here!

The Philadelphia Flyers always seem to be involved in a goalie controversey.  The season hasn’t started and they have one already.  Broad Street Buzz brings as he puts it the “good news”.

If you’re a Washington Capitals fan you know that head coach Bruce Boudreau has made some commercials over the past couple seasons.  Now Alex Ovechkin is getting in the act.  Capitals Outsider compares to see which are funnier.

We all know that George Parros is known for his fighting ability.  Ducks Daily Blog lets us in on some other interesting facts of George.

Blackhawk Up has added a new writer to the staff, and Tim Currell does a great job breaking down the youngsters in the Windy City that are fighting for jobs.

Oil On Whyte takes a look at the Oilers-Coyotes game and adds some lineup and negotiation news as well.

Rink Royalty has been doing an excellent job with pre season previews of all the teams.  Check out Gavin’s work and see how his predictions look.

The Nashville Predators have a lot of goalie on the roster.  According to Predlines they have 13 feet of goalie.  Could be tough to get pucks past that!

We hope you enjoyed out top stories from the past week.  Visit us each and every Monday as we continue to bring you those top stories and other news related to the FanSided NHL network.
